Level 1 BlackSheep BellyDance 8 week course starts on the 15th April for £32. Mondays 8.20pm to 9.20pm

In August 2012 Melissa became a Level 1 BlackSheep BellyDance Teacher after training with Kajira Djoumahna in Southampton, UK

What sets BlackSheep Belly Dance style of Synchronized Group Improvisation(SGI) Belly Dance from other styles of belly dance is the amazing style, symmetry and sense of connectedness that can arise from a group of dancers flowing in and out of various moves...all at the drop of a hat and without any predetermined order. The organic nature of BSBD style dance really sets it apart from its counterparts. By using the whole stage and emphasizing all aspects of our presence to communicate with each other and the audience, Black Sheep Dancers are able to do something that is truly beautiful and unique. We build a sense of community which is rarely seen in the world today.

What to bring/wear:

Comfortable clothes, no skirts please.

Water.

Finger Cymbals: these will be introduced on day one. Though you may not "get it" right away, it is a good idea to have them on your fingers while you're getting a feel for the moves. Cymbals are an integral part of Tribal Style Belly Dance.

A willingness to have fun!
